Saurusama's Brewing Guide
Introduction
Welcome to the marvelous, albeit a bit math heavy, world of brewing. In this guide I will provide information about Biolo's multiple brewing skills, how to get the maximum results possible and what gear and skills use to achieve this objective.
Even though this guide is focused on Biolo, most of its content can be used by the other classes that can create items with chance of success: Dragon Knight, Meister and Shadow Cross.
Disclaimer
- The info of the formulas and the item rate of each recipe are taken from iRO Wiki, it is possible they are not exactly how are implemented in this server.
- I'm English Second Language (ESL), so if you see something weird feel free to correct it.
What is brewing?
Simply put, brewing is the ability to create consumables and catalysts using different types of materials. The Biolo class revolves around this idea, as nearly all of their skills consumes items when used and most of those items can be created by themselves.
Skills
Biolo have five abilities that allow them to create new objects, each one with their own list of recipes, and four of them have different formulas that determine the success of the process. There are also other skills that improve the success rate of three of the brewing skills.
Sounds a bit complicated, but if you check this table you would see is quite simple:
| Brewing skills | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Class | Skill | Skills that improve the success rate | |
| Alchemist/Creator | |||
| Genetic | |||
| None | |||

Notes:
Learning Potion (Potion Research) is an Alchemist skill.
Full Chemical Protection is a Creator skill.
Change Instruction is a skill of the homunculus Vanilmirth, we will talk about homunculi later.- Creation guides and books are not consumed when using your skills.
Pharmacy (Prepare Potion),
Mix Cooking and
Bionic Pharmacy are customized in this server in a way that allows you to brew all possible items of a recipe at once if you have all the necessary items.
- E.g., you can create 400x
Plant Bottle (7137) if you have in your inventory 1x
Plant Bottle Creation Guide (7130) , 400x
Medicine Bowl (7134) , 400x
Empty Bottle (713) and 800x
Maneater Blossom (1032) . - It is not guaranteed to get all items, it just does all the tries at once and each one has a chance to fail based on the skill formula.
- E.g., you can create 400x
Now, let's view each skill in detail.
Pharmacy (Prepare Potion)
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||
Formula
Brewing Rate = [(PreparePotion_Lv × 3) + (PotionResearch_Lv) + (InstructionChange_Lv) + (Job_Lv × 0.2) + (DEX × 0.1) + (LUK × 0.1) + (INT × 0.05) + Potion_Rate]%
Special Pharmacy
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||
Formula
Creation = INT + (DEX ÷ 2) + LUK + Job_Lv + Random[30, 150] + (Base_Lv − 100) + (Potion_Research_Lv × 5) + (Full_Chemical_Protection_Lv × Random[4, 10]) Difficulty = 620 - (Skill_Lv × 20) + Item_Rate
The relation between Creation and Difficulty determines the max number of potions created:
- If Creation > Difficulty by at least 400, creates the maximum number of potions allowed.
- If Creation > Difficulty by at least 300, creates 3 potions below the maximum allowed.
- If Creation > Difficulty by at least 100, creates 4 potions below the maximum allowed.
- If Creation > Difficulty by at least 1, creates 5 potions below the maximum allowed.
- If Creation < Difficulty, creates 6 potions below the maximum allowed.
Use the Turbo function, your hand will appreciate it.

The relation between Creation and Difficulty determines the max number of dishes prepared:
- If Creation > Difficulty by at least 30, 10~12 dishes are prepared.
- If Creation > Difficulty by at least 10, 10 dishes are prepared.
- If Creation < Difficulty by exactly 10, 8 dishes are prepared.
- If Creation < Difficulty by at least 30, 5 dishes are prepared.
- If Creation < Difficulty by at least 50, the cooking fails.
These foods stacks with
Almighty (12883) and traditional cooking foods.
Traditional cooking
In the olden days there were no +20 stat foods, but there were +1~10 foods (like the ones dropped in Sarah's Memory). The recipes for these are terrible, needing not only multiple items but also various of each one to get a single food. You also need cooking kits and complete a quest to be able to cook.
Luckily, you can buy
Almighty (12883) from Eden Machine at (moc_para01 52, 31) for 3x
Eden Coin (25223) . This consumable gives you +10 to all stats and stacks with the +20 stat foods, but not with the traditional cooking foods.
Please, just use
Almighty (12883) , it is better, easier and cheaper.

Technically a brewing skill as it converts some items into others, but is the least interesting of them all and also the only one that never fails. In fact, you will probably only use it to convert 2x
Soft Silk (7166) into 10x
Fabric (1059) .
Bionic Pharmacy
|
| |||||||||||||||||||||
Formula
Creation = (Potion_Research_Lv × 2 × Skill_Lv) + [(Base_Lv - 200) × 4] + INT + LUK + CRT × 2 Difficulty = Random[0, 400]
The relation between Creation and Difficulty determines the max number of potions created:
- If Creation - Difficulty is greater or equal than 701, creates the maximum number of potions allowed.
- If Creation - Difficulty is lower than 701, creates 3 potions below the maximum allowed.
- If Creation - Difficulty is lower than 451, creates 5 potions below the maximum allowed.
Bionic Pharmacy is not that well documented on iRO Wiki, so I asked Muh for help about how this skill is implemented here, that is why this formula is different from the one on iRO Wiki.
Alchemist Spirit
Alchemist Spirit enables Alchemist/Creator/Genetic/Biolo to use four new skills, three of them being special versions of
Pharmacy (Prepare Potion) that can brew specific recipes in bulk. They are not very useful here because
Pharmacy (Prepare Potion) is customized so you can create in bulk, but I will add them here for completion's sake.

Stats
Checking all the formulas we can see that 3 stats and one trait are taken into account for creating items, let's normalize the values to the value of LUK to check which ones matter the most. Spoiler: it is LUK.
| Brewing skills | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skill | INT | DEX | LUK | CRT |
| 0.5 | 1 | 1 | Not used | |
| 1 | 0.5 | 1 | Not used | |
| Not used | 2/3 | 1 | Not used | |
| 1 | Not used | 1 | 2 | |
As we can see, not only is LUK used in all skills, but it also has the biggest impact besides for
Bionic Pharmacy, which CRT is the one who offers the best value. But CRT is only used in
Bionic Pharmacy, so the clear winner is LUK.
In fact, the items you can get from
Bionic Pharmacy ain't that good except for
Advanced Coating Potion (1000280) and
Greater Plant Bottle (1000281) , and the four elemental acid bottles if you go with that build. So, disregarding
Bionic Pharmacy, the stats priority would be:
| LUK > DEX > INT > CRT |
Regarding the stats points distribution It would be:
| Stats and traits | |
|---|---|
| INT | 128 |
| DEX | 130 |
| LUK | 130 |
| CRT | 110 |
You can put any remaining stats points into STR for weight capacity or AGI for mor ASPD, and for trait points you can put them wherever you want.
193 ASPD THE DREAM
None of the skills have cast time nor cooldown, so in order to maximize the brewing speed we need to minimize the animation of each skill, that is getting 193 ASPD.
Or it would be if
Pharmacy (Prepare Potion),
Mix Cooking and
Bionic Pharmacy were not customized with the option to create in bulk, so ASPD will only matter for
Special Pharmacy.
With the stats distribution showed before, it will be hard to get to 193, but there is an easy way to set our ASPD to 190, that is using the homunculus Eira's skill
Overed Boost.
The key world here is set, when using
Overed Boost your ASPD will become 190 for the duration of the buff, even if you already have more than 190, so only use it if you have less than 190 ASPD.
We will have lots of DEX and some gears/cards will give AGI too, but even so, it won't be easy to reach 193 ASPD. Note that our gears main purpose is to get as mcuh LUK>DEX>INT>CRT as possible, so don't get too fixated on getting 193 ASPD.
Demon's Essence LUK 3 (4925)
Before getting to the Gear section, let's address the elephant in the room. I don't like using
Demon's Essence LUK 3 (4925) when brewing because I think it is not worth it. Let's compare DEX and LUK once more and see the difference in their values for each skill.
| Brewing skills | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skill | DEX | LUK | Difference | (Multiply the difference by 4) |
| 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
| 0.5 | 1 | 0.5 | 2 | |
| 2/3 | 1 | 1/3 | 4/3 | |
| Not used | 1 | 1 | 4 | |
None of the cards we will use give less than +2 LUK, so it is not worth using even with the profit in
Bionic Pharmacy.
A brewer's best friends
From giving stats to providing materials, these will be your companions on your adventure.
Homunculus
Homunculi are the special companions of Alchemist classes, created to assist their master in battle brewing.
There are 20 combinations between homunculus and homunculus S, but if you have been reading up until now, you know what combination we are looking for.
Pet
Pets are tamed monsters that give special bonuses, such as stats, damage amplification and skill autocast. There are two types of pets that are useful to use: the ones that give LUK and the ones that give ASPD.
| Pets | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| LUK | ASPD | ||

![]() |
ASPD + 7% HIT + 18 Me>HIT + 18 Melee Physical Damage + 5% |
![]() |
LUK + 3 Resistance to Poison Status + 15% | ||
- For LUK pets you can choose whichever you want, all three of them give LUK + 3. I would suggest Poring as its food is the cheapest.
- For ASPD pets the best one is Kiel followed by Aliot, which is Kiel's preevolution.
Others classes
Buffs from others classes that will help us:

NPC
Besides the Healer and the Storage NPCs, these are the othe ones that are important to us:

| Mandy | (main_office 69, 63) | She sells all the basic items and books needed for brewing.
Familiarize with her, you'll be putting her kids through College. |
| Tool Dealer | (main_office 100, 63) | Potions, ASPD potions, and gemstones. |
| Love Pets | (main_office 100, 29) | Food for some pets are also ingredients for our recipes. |
| Magician Dealer | (main_office 63, 63) | Points for the elemental acid bottles and also gemstones. |
| Dye the Alchemist | (paramk 75, 102) | Materials for some recipes. Also |
| Manbok | (paramk 87, 101) | Ingredients for cooking. |
| Phelix | (alberta 190, 173) | Exchanges 10x |
Gear Progression
The section you are probably here for. I will show a beginner, intermediate, and endgame build, but I'll also include a section with gears that will help you farm materials.
Beginner
This build is a mix of easy to get items and final items that will get better once they have better/perfect enchants. We will also use the Merchant Card Set and the Genetic Shadow Gear Set, but do not bother enchanting them because we will use them after this point.
You can also keep reading and decide if you want to start from here or jump directly to the intermediate level.

This build is an overhaul of the beginner build, we will not be using the Merchant Card Set and the Genetic Shadow Gear Set anymore, but will keep some of the cards. We will also focus on getting double
Rune of Luck Lv2 (29007) on our Illusion gears and no DEX or INT enchants on our Odin's Past gears. Oh yeah, we will be getting some Almighty Shadow accessories too.
