Changelog: Reworked some sections with better explanations, future proof for bio6 and a new section to explain why I picked a specific choice for fullbuild.

WARNING: I don't recommend this build unless you like ranged skills and AC. For meta AC build go for magic build. (After the new skills we better than melee now but worse than magic build)

About the build
Sadly Abyss Chaser isn't in a good place right now balance wise, Gravity is trying to support three builds (magic, melee and ranged) with little overlap between them, making most items that release making one build happy and the other two sad. In general, AC needs a rebalance of some kind, there are only 3-4 classes right now in the game that I would say that are bad and AC is one of them. (sadly)

Besides that the overall kit for AC isn't great compared to other classes, physical ultimate (+30 P. Atk) does barely anything to the damage at this point in the game with all equipments giving tons of P. Atk.

For the Ranged AC build itself it spent most of the time without even a decent AOE skill (only having ), at least that changed with the last  batch of skills released as we got , the skill doesn't do that much damage by itself and currently the gear we have doesn't give that much dmg% for it, making it underwhelming. However, with the upcoming everything will change, this item is a game changer in so many ways.

Right now the state of the build is, considering WH as the baseline (the best critical ranged build in the game) you will do 1/2 their damage with you both at full build.

Even with all that if I would rank all three AC builds, I would rank them as follows:

# Magic
# Ranged
# Melee

With the new multiplier melee build isn't that worse than ranged and magic I would say is the only real viable option for general uses. However that changes if you are considering running ToT, all three builds aren't good for it if you have the option to swap to other classes. But if you will run as AC I would rank them as follows:

# Ranged
# Melee
# Magic

by FrenziedToad hmu if have questions.
With the need to LP magic build becomes useless, melee does good aoe damage but it does not that much damage compared to other melee classes that are meta (from what I saw 1/4 the damage on single target), ranged you will only do single target damage, but usually on higher floors it is preferable to single target anyway.

How does our main skill work?
Overview
works kinda strange, it has base 2 hits but it has 50% chance to do 1 extra hit on attack, think of it as an extra 50% final damage crit. On average ur DPS is 25% the lowest damage, but you can be lucky to do huge damages. Pretty much gambling skill.

is very unique, it has base 2 hits but it has 50% chance to do 1 extra hit on attack, think of it as an extra 50% final damage crit. On average ur DPS is 1.25x ur lowest damage, but you can be lucky to do huge damages. Pretty much gambling skill.

does good damage by itself however to maximize its damage u should try to maintain the Chasing buff from , the buff duration is 60 seconds.

Strength
Strengths
Single target dmg go brrr.
Animation is cool + gamba

Weakness
Weaknesses
AOE damage, only farming skill you get until endgame () has a 1s cooldown making it really hard to farm, also it doesn't crit and its multiplier not good so the damage is not that great making it really hard to farm endgame content with it. (We will get a new AOE attack in the future so we op now)
You will always be behind meta classes by a considerable amount (around 1/2 the damage for single target), for AOE you will need to be stacked to farm on endgame places like depth2

Leveling
Leveling
This build has a strong single target attack in however the AOE damage of the build from the beginning until the end. To level up you should use archer skills like or , but preferably get someone to help you level up to fourth job.
Up until fourth job use or , but preferably get someone to help you level up to fourth job. After fourth job use

Didn't know where to add it but you need around 30%after cast delay reduction to get the maximum spam for Frenzy Shot and more if you want to weave chain reaction shot with it.

Weaving
If you get enough ACDR (not that much, 40%+ you should be able to do it) you should be able to weave between (you could do it with but its damage and CD is so abysmal that it is mostly for when you really don't want to gap close on the target, you should be able to weave both as Chain Reaction Shot doesn't have cast delay tho).
To weave you need to do the following:

# Assign both skills to turbo Smart (Left click), IMPORTANT: Frenzy Shot keybind should be lower than the other skill that you want to weave on the right side I added an image to exemplify: If the skill you want to weave in is on W you need to use Frenzy Shot on Q, on T it will not work;
# Hold Frenzy Shot skill to attack the target;
# While holding Frenzy Shot skill press the hotkey of the skill you will want to weave in if it is off CD. (don't release Frenzy Shot skill hotkey)
And you are good to go.

I am gonna show here some items you can make from mid to endgame of the build, for early game stick with eden gear. You can mix and match the items you have/prefer to match your needs. In general you should aim for a equal ammount of crit damage and ranged damage on your build for maximum damage.

I will leave endgame gear options discussions at the end of this section.

Fow now, finish all gear using Yorscalp boots (don't make chapter 1 boots) -> Buy all mvps -> Finish demigosd tablet combo -> Make chapter 1 boots

From my testing, if you want to focus on using  and want to create a shadow gear only for that use Shadow Gear#Master Shadow Gear with , and for 0 RES monsters the damage of general shadow gear should be a little more like 2-3% but on monsters with higher RES master shadow should do a lot more damage. For general use you should make: (New shadow gear that combos with master shadow is coming so I would recommend going for master shadow gear)

Future Proofing
Choosing your endgame build
Ok now I am gonna talk about what is coming in the future and what I think is the best and why.
This section is mostly based on what is to come, tests I made with different gear and what is to come. In the end the best option is the one on the next section but if you don't want to minmax that much and already have some other gear you could run other stuff.

WARNING: Following discussion is about this particular build wouldn't recommend what I said for other classes specially WH.
Nebulas/HoL
By far the worst Nebula/HoL combo is/, while testing a pure con/ranged build gives around 60% less damage than the build that does more damage, even if you use crit enchants it gets better but not by a lot.

Hall of Life
While I did recommend the option of going for a full crit build with on the previous section it still underperforms the hybrid one, mind you by not that much (around 10% difference).
This content is not coming anytime soon as the next update we probably getting is ep 20. This is the most theoretical part of this build as it is really rare to find this build on KRO specially on endgame as it is so bad at farming.

First let me explain the items that are coming and how we can mix and match to maximize the damage and how I will do it in the future. I won't explain how to upgrade and how it works upgrading it just the final product. As there is no description of the itens in the database right now gonna have to show as pictures.
Time Dimensions vs Yorscalp
Right now yorscalp is better undoubtebly but it feels so bad to use as you only do more damage with the proc, in the future (when we get bio6 and you can get acute lv8 without gambling) the difference will be 6% between the two, and if you go for lv 10 the damage is the same (considering yorscalp perfect dmg enchant). Based on this I would just recommend skipping yorscalp entirely, but if you already have one you can just go for it from the get go.

Consider everything +12 for the following sections.
Recommended gear (minmax)
Here I will recommend the build you should aim for (it will be very expensive).

On the right are the biggest aditions that this upgrade brings: the new cape, there are in total 4 capes one for each season but we will focus only on the ranged damage one and the critical one. There are two forms in total and 3 enchants but we will only discuss the cape fully enchanted and on the final form as circulation of life.

Although the summer cape gives more multipliers by itself like property, ranged and p. atk, it alsos removes 20 crit chance that is very rough to deal with. Both capes shares 2 enchants and have special enchants on the second slot that combos with the accessories that come with the update that I will show later.

If you combine Life of Summer with Nebula of CON you get 20% property damage and if you combine Life of Winter with Nebula of CRT you get too 20% property damage. Based on that I wouldn't recommend going for a mix of Summer and CRT or Winter and CON. Now that we can't use CRT Nebula with the Summer we can't even offset the loss in crit chance with it leaving in need of getting crit some other way. In total it will be a eedifference of 57 crit chance, if you plan to use MVPs with this configuration maybe think of getting an  .

Now we have selected both our nebulas and our circulation of life, what's next? The Circulation of Life combos with a new accessory that comes with the update (on KRO it came later but probably we will get it in a single one).

Signet
On the right is the Signet that combos with our selected cape. Damage wise it gives in total 10% critical damage and 23% race damage. This new accessory comes with two new enchants and a new enchant for the stellar seal. One of the enchants combos with the Star Cluster enchant of the Nebula and the other enchant combos with the new stellar seal enchant.

The first enchant, Token of Life, is fixed and gives: +5 all stats, +3 all traits, +3 P. Atk and +5% size damage. However you get a couple options to select from on the stellar seal (going by KRO it is selectable not random, so don't be afraid to get a perfect one right now). With the stellar seal enchants we get a new problem, they scale with POW, CON or CRT, if we have a Star Cluster of Creative we will be stuck with at least 90 CRT, so in this case we get stuck in a conumdrum, level up our best trait? CON or level up POW for the full effect of the new enchant. The ones we are interested in are the following enchants:

If you got this particular case with the Star Cluster of Creative I would recommend going for 45 POW and 90 CON although you loose 6% ranged damage and 6 P. Atk the extra 45 CON easily outdamages with our 15 weight on frenzy shot. But this isn't the best answer in my opinion there is an secret option, give up on the Star Cluster of Creative and go for Star Cluster of Concentration, it removes our limitation of 90 CRT and lets us ditch CRT for 100 CON. 100 POW and 35 CRT getting all the possible bonus from the new stellar seal enchant. The only downside in my eyes is not getting that extra 12 crit chance but I think it is a good trade off.

Now that we are going for Star Cluster of Concentration we get stuck with only 1 available Signet Enchant left, the Signet of Concentration 5Lv it gives us +15% Atk, +15% ranged damage and +20% race damage. The option for Star Cluster of Creative is going for Signet of Creative 5Lv and the difference is getting 15% crit damage instead of ranged damage.

Now I will compare both our options full crit with Star Cluster of Creative and a mixed build with Star Cluster of Concentration:

Don't get me wrong both options are strong and gives a bunch of stats, however I believe the strongest of the two is using the mixed build it is more balanced on ranged damage and crit damage and you only loose 12 crit chance that is easily getable on other places.

Future proofing
Beargun
As I alluded in the opening, when bio6 releases we will get a game changer weapon in the proc on this weapon almost doubles our dmg, you won't need to swap any other gears when you swap to this new wep, for the new card slot you will have you can use for a more general use. If you running size cards like you can use 3 or 2 and the ghost ship captain (u do marginally more dmg with ghost ship captain)

Dimension World
Chapter 1 release but I will leave this here: DON'T MAKE THIS BOOTS UNLESS YOU GOT ANYTHING ELSE TO BUY FIRST.

For the new chapter 1 boots you will use so it combos with the signet, for the enchants, you can get whichever you want for racial/elemental enchants but for the second slot you can get either or with the latter being marginally better.
