Beim Betreten der Instanz startet ihr am orangefarbenen Punkt. Ihr seht den NPC Oscar. Der Gruppenleiter muss mit dem NPC sprechen, um den Kampf zu beginnen. Alle Gruppenmitglieder werden zufällig auf die linke (blaue Box) und rechte (grüne Box) Seite der Karte verteilt. Jede Seite enthält 50 Monster. Du musst 47 Monster besiegen, um das Portal (gelb) freizugeben. Ist die andere Seite nicht frei, führt dich das Portal dorthin. Du kannst deine Gruppenmitglieder anhalten lassen, bis du deine Seite freigemacht hast.
Nachdem Sie eine Seite der Monster besiegt haben, wird Oscar die folgende Nachricht verkünden: „…“. Eine Prime Corruption Root wird im Mittelkorridor erscheinen und Sie müssen sie innerhalb von 30 Sekunden töten. Wenn Sie es nicht rechtzeitig schaffen, tötet die Prime Corruption Root alle Gruppenmitglieder auf dem Bildschirm (15×15) und wird anschließend von Oscar gereinigt (für Sie besiegt). Die Anzahl der erscheinenden Prime Corruption Root hängt vom Schwierigkeitsgrad ab. Auf Schwierigkeitsgrad 4 können zwei oder mehr erscheinen, auf Schwierigkeitsgrad 10 bis zu fünf. Um eine Chance zu haben, die Prime Corruption Root zu besiegen, müssen beide Seiten gleichzeitig geräumt werden, damit die Gruppe den Mittelkorridor rechtzeitig erreichen kann. Alternativ kann die Gruppe dem Monster auch komplett aus dem Weg gehen, ohne dafür andere Strafen als geringere Belohnungen von Oscar zu erhalten.
Sobald beide Seiten abgeschlossen sind, führt das Portal zum zentralen Korridor, wo ihr Oscar trefft, der euch zum Kampf gegen Phantom Amdarais führt.
Es besteht die Möglichkeit, dass Spieler anstelle von Phantom Amdarais gegen Phantom von Himmelmez kämpfen. Einige Fähigkeiten und Mechaniken können abweichen, und ihr habt die Chance, ihre Karte zu erhalten.
Schwierigkeitsgrad von Old Glast Heim
Der Herausforderungsmodus von Old Glast Heim verfügt über ein wählbares Schwierigkeitssystem, mit dem ihr stärkere Versionen der Instanz freischalten könnt, nachdem ihr eine einfachere Version abgeschlossen habt.

Höhere Schwierigkeitsstufen bewirken Folgendes:
- Skaliert den Schaden aller Monster um (Schaden * Schwierigkeitsgrad)
- Skaliert die HP des Bosses um (450.000.000 + [150.000.000 * Schwierigkeitsgrad]), außer auf Stufe 10.
- Skaliert die HP des mutierten Dorns um (5 + [Schwierigkeitsgrad * 4])
- Erhöht die Gesundheitsregeneration des Bosses um (300.000 * Schwierigkeitsgrad) HP pro 2 Sekunden.
- Erhöht die Belohnungen.
- Erhöht die Chance, Phantom von Himmelmez zu erschaffen (5 % * Schwierigkeitsgrad).
Hinweis:
Die Anzahl der abgeschlossenen Level ist charaktergebunden. Du erhältst einen Fortschrittspunkt entsprechend dem abgeschlossenen Level. Beispiel: Für das Abschließen von Schwierigkeitsstufe 3 erhältst du drei Fortschrittspunkte.
