Refinar equipo te otorgará estadísticas adicionales al equiparlo. El refinamiento se indica con un +
seguido de un número al principio del nombre del equipo.
Hollgrehenn es el NPC que puede refinar. Se puede encontrar en muchas ciudades principales, indicado por un ícono de yunque en el minimapa y encima del NPC.
Bonificación por Refine de Arma
Las armas de diferentes niveles y grados proporcionan bonificaciones únicas de daño por cada refinamiento.

Bonificación por Refine de Armadura
Para mayor claridad, las armaduras no solo se refieren a la armadura corporal, sino también a las prendas, calzado, escudos y cascos (parte superior).
Las armaduras proporcionan DEF dura adicional por cada refine en relación con su refine actual utilizando la fórmula: Floor[( 3 + Current_Refine ) / 4]
Para las Armaduras de Lv 2, esta bonificación de DEF dura se incrementa en un 120% y también otorga 2 RES y MRES por cada refine.
Equipo Shadow
El Equipamiento Shadow son equipos especiales que otorgan sus propios efectos únicos por cada refine:
Shadow Weapons grants +1 ATK & MATK per Refine. All other Shadow Equipment grants MHP + 10 per Refine. In addition to minor base stats, Shadow Equipment can also provide bonus effects listed in their description.
You can use the normal refining system or shadow hammers (buyable at Rayja):

Unlike normal armors, shadow accessories ( Ring and Pendant) can be refined.
Refinement Pity System
Each time you fail at the refiner, your chance for your next attempt with same equipment typ, level and refine will be increased.
Increase for every fail is 10% of base chance for refine level of up to +12, 5% base chance after +12
(e.g for an item +11 the base chance is 20% so 10% of it are 2% pity per refine attempt)
upon success on the unique combination of type,level,refine the bonus chance gets removed again.
you can have multiple bonus chances for various combinations at once
these pity attempts are saved per character
the UI always shows the correct chances (UI doesn't know decimals so 66.5% would be shown as 66%)

Blacksmith Blessing
Using Blacksmith's Blessing (6635) (BSB) allows an item to be protected from being destroyed during the refine process. Simply add the required amount in the Refine UI where applicable.
How to obtain BSBS?
- Cash Shop (buying HD Carnium/Bradium or Enriched Oridecon/Elunium Boxes)
- 8.5m Zeny at Eden Market
- Attendence Reward
- be lucky with Forgotten Heirloom (50001) (reward for completing Main Office board quests)
- killing MVPs in Varmundt's Biosphere
- Exchanging 100 Zelunium (25731) at the NPC Vurewell in each refinement area

Refining probabilities
Refinement-Pity-System
For any refinement at any refinement NPC a pity system is in place:
- each time you fail at the refiner, your chance for your next attempt with same equipment type, level and refine will be increased
- increase for every fail is 10% of base chance for refine level of up to +12, 5% of base chance after +12. (Note: base chance in increased for ores using the special chances)
- upon success on the unique combination of type, level, refine the bonus chance gets removed again
- you can have mutiple bonus chances for various combinations at once
- these pity attempts are saved per character
- the UI always shows the correct chances (though 66.5% would be shown as 66% as they UI doesn't know decimals)
Example: You fail refining a level 1 armor with elunium from 5 to 6 (70%) and afterwards from 4 to 5 (90%).
Your success chance on the next attempt for a level 1 armor refining from 4 to 5 will be 99% and from 5 to 6 it will be 77%.

Guarantee Certificates
Talk to Refine Master NPC next to the Anvil House in Prontera (prontera 189, 175) to use Guarantee Refine Certificate which will refine your equipment to designated number at 100% chance.
- Certificates are account-bound, but players can utilize the Refine Certificate Packager to make them tradable.
- Shadow Equipment, Lv 5 Weapons, and Lv 2 Armors CANNOT use Guarantee Refine Certificate due to their unique refine system.
- Players can craft Weapon Guarentee Refine Certificates by converting Crimson, Thanatos, and Vicious Mind weapons with Weapon Refinement Hammers bought in Paramarket.
- Players can combine lower refine Weapon Guarentee Certificates into higher ones in Paramarket.
- Certificates are specific to either Weapons or Armors. Following Certificates are available:
