| # At you will find Shufapa. He explains to us, that they plan to investigate Scale Island and asks you to come along. The reason for that is an unusual mana wavelength on the island. | | |- |

| # Talk to Nyar. Aurelie, Lehar, and Nillem will appear. The reason for the mana wavelength comes from a rift that opened. Not only that, the dimensional boundaries and time and parallel dimensions are collapsing because of the rift. Nyar points out that this rift leads to the past, which gives us a way to deal with Lasgand. Nyar will connect the rift to a specific point in time, where Lasgand got his power. The option you pick doesn't matter in the end.

| # You get warped to . Talk to Nyar again. Lehar and Nillem will appear. Nillem points out that we are indeed in the past where the rift opened. It's the time where the foundation of Rune-Midgarts happens. This is also the time where Lasgand got the power inherited and a plan gets created how to alter the past to stop Lasgand. Lehar spots people and everyone decides to approach them as volunteers for the resistance against the Jormungandr Cult.

| | = Introduction = |
| # In people appear who found out about the rift. Those are against the cult, but they spotted you. He ask us what we are doing here, so were telling him that "We're Adventurers". After clearing up that we are on their side, the stranger introduces himself as Ivan from the Wigner family. So we follow him.
| | <page under construction> |
| # You will be warped to a Safe Place in . Talk to Ivan, he tells us that we are near the cult, in the Raised Land. But instead of attacking the cult, we are on the way to the base of Gaebolg, Lunaphoma. You follow the soldier to the commander.

| | Hello I'm Sophie/Joan (Guide Date: 2/Sep/2025). You would not see me that often playing in D1/Biosphere Venom/Biosphere Temple with my Soul Ascetic (SA) char R.ClickToRename254519. I think I will play SA more though, because I think my flight hours on this character are lacking (you can expect more sporadic future updates as I discover stuff). Magic builds speaking, I still play on my EM more, but this job definitely offers niches that EM doesn't have, namely mobility and harder hitting single target skills. Thinking back, I really should have been telling people to play SA instead as starting class whenever someone asked in #global, because the barrier of the requirements are easier to fulfill compared to the likes of EM, because SA talisman build doesn't need ACD% and therefore doesn't need or the likes (and that managing ASPD is easier). |
| # Talk to the Resistance Soldier in who introduces you to Lunaphoma. Before going to the headquarters, he needs to report something to the commander and vice-commander. Followers of Freya are complaining and Lehar suggested to listen in to hear what's the fuss.
| | |
| #;
| | This guide is merely what I do on my talisman SA and is not optimized (dm me on discord/In-game if you can improve upon it). I just tried to write it out, because I think other SA main guide writers are inactive (retirement/hiatus), while the guide/discussion demands from new players are as high as ever (as of 2/Sep/2025) and I saw many new faces playing SA within the last 1-2 months. Also I have to state that: there's not really a different playstyle or skill/stat allocation between Talisman of Blue Dragon Build (Single Target Talisman Build) vs Talisman of White Tiger Build (Area Talisman Build), so you should definitely have both at the same time on your general to go build. The exception might be if you want to maximize Single Target Talisman Build on skills while also grabbing , which you will probably do in instances like HoL in situations where there is no other SA available. Between both builds, most of it is simply the matter of gear swapping (most significantly between the weapons), so I would advice you readers to familiarize yourself with gear swapping (even easier now that there's a custom skill created for that very purpose). |
| # Talk to Tris. You hear that the people of Freya complain that the fight against the cult is lead in the name of Odin and they want Freya to be included as well. Tris explains the difficult time and that they didn't forget about the people of Freya, but also mentions that they need more time because the war against the cult is top priority. But the people of Freya are unhappy and decide to leave the resistance.
| | |
| #;
| | = Scope/For whom this guide is intended for = |
| # Talk to the Resistance Soldier again who introduce us to the captains. After explaining the situation, Tris wants to send you to the Richard Mercenary Group, because people with combat skills are always needed there.
| | End game luxury of nice to have and fun to do things for those players who have reached end game and have collected most if not all BiS gears or their equivalent (y'all can refer to this guide as the complementary to the more comprehensive guides such as Mango's guide to leveling and farming with SA and Choi's Soul Ascetic Guide). This guide is very subjective and intuitive as I do not provide exact numbers and optimization, but for that case you can find me to test out or experiment with any gears/luxuries that are listed/mentioned within this guide, unless I specifically stated to not have them. In this guide you are assumed to have already worn BiS (Best in Slot) equipment or incomplete BiS (enchanting in progress) and have reached 100% VCT (Variable cast time) reduction via item bonus (because those 120 Dex better be put elsewhere). Also you are required to like to Leap (this is a warning). |
| #;
| | |
| # Talk to Tan who got ordered to bring you to the Richard Mercenary Group. He is clearly against us being part of the resistance. Tell him that "We'll go right away."
| | End game optimization problem is that for some people, some gear/enchant/MVP setups suit them better as it touches the specifics of their playing styles and currently owned assets (e.g. with in your you might want ) in your ), so we will not assume a narrow-minded stance on this issue and would tolerate a bit lesser or bigger DPS and whatnots as long as things work well (shout out to get the DPS envy immunity people!). |
| #; | | |
| # Follow the navi until everyone appears. Tan shows us where the mercenary group's office is and that we need to find a Richard there.

| # You have to go to the mercenary group's office, but no one is here. Suddenly you find a mysterious man. Lehar sends you to speak to him. | | =General Overview= |
| # Walk into the portal above those NPCs.
| | === Stats&Traits === |
| #;
| | The actual distribution of stats and traits is more loosely defined (this is not a starter player's guide) but we aim to fulfill these Objectives (by priority): |
| # Talk to ???. We tell him that we are here to see the Mercenary King Richard. We also add that Tan sent us to this place. According to the mysterious man, Richard is not here and that we need to go to the Central Barracks where Richard's room is.
| | # Instant Cast (very important for both builds: you want to DPS hard with single target talisman build and instant-cast leap+skill with area talisman build) |
| #; | | # Damage (in general) and OH capability (mostly for area talisman build) |
| # You have to search for Richard's room . Check his room. | | # ASPD (SA talisman skills have no After Cast Delay so your bottleneck will be ASPD) |
| #; | | # Survivability, HP pool (mostly when doing single target talisman build) |
| # Go upstairs and right and enter the second to last portal where Richard room lies. But no ones here, so we check the next door. After a warning a woman appears and asks us what brings us to Richard. We explain that Tan sent us. | | # Curse immunity |

| # They will sent you back to the Mercenary Group's Office . | | |
| #;
| | ====== Stats ====== |
| # When entering the office, a dialogue will start. You hear that Richard is not here. The lady, Valdaris, explains that we need to go through the registration process first.
| | |
| # Talk to the documents where you find the papers for the applications. You get explained that they are still using the old forms and they are not for applying to only one mercenary group.
| | * STR - 80-100; Carry weight. (talisman bundles are heavy) |
| #;
| | |
| # Talk to Valdaris to give her your form. After reviewing the forms we get welcomed to the the Richard Mercenary Group.
| | * AGI - 110-120; Reaching 185-187 ASPD will still not be that easy. Also some people have utilized builds with even more ASPD, but I have yet to fathom their usage |
| #;
| | |
| # Talk to Tan, who is talking to Valdaris about us being suspicious. He is still concerned about if we are good or not. Valdaris is taking us to a simple tour around the area.
| | * VIT - 90-120; Can put minimum amount when in a party with devo |
| #;
| | |
| # When leaving the office another dialogue will start where Valdaris tells us that this base was build in a rush.
| | * INT - 100-120; MATK, SP pool. (SA have high SP consumption problem) |
| # Walk a little bit down. You learn that there are supplies stored from the Wigner Merchant Group.
| | |
| #;
| | * DEX - 1 (all remaining points here) |
| # Laura Valdaris tells us that this an area for temporary visitors.
| | |
| # At some kids appear and want to play with their Sister Valdaris. She explains that the children are rescued from the Jormungandr Cult. After explaining everything about the kids she asks us to go to the training ground.
| | * LUK - 89-110; For Curse Immunity, MATK |
| #;
| | |
| # Valdaris is waiting for you at . She explains the training grounds and that it is open for everyone. You hear something strange from the soldiers, so Valdaris gets angry and wants to investigate it.
| | Example (My stats for general farming): |
| #;
| | |
| # Go near the soldiers where you see someone getting beaten up so bad that he nearly dies. It's Richard who gets beaten up, so Valdaris decides to bring him back to his room to treat his wounds.
| | * STR - 100 |
| #;
| | |
| # Go back to the center .
| | * AGI - 120 |

| | |
| # Go upstairs enter the second to last portal on the right side.
| | * VIT - 108 |
| #;

| | * INT - 120 |
| #;
| | |
| # Talk to Richard who explains that he wants to create books for battle. Getting hit by Nerius was necessary to show proper combat stances which are better shown in real-life examples. Lee should draw the illustration for the book.
| | * DEX - 2 |
| #; | | |
| # Talk to Lee who instantly shows you the illustration he has drawn. After some talking about the book, you get introduced to Richard. Lee gets ordered to show us the rest while Richard and Valdaris have a talk.
| | * LUK - 89 |
| #;
| | |
| # Leave the room, enter the last portal.
| | ====== Traits ====== |
| #;
| | |
| # Talk to Lee again. He tells us the full story of how they met Galaxia, where she destroyed nearly the entire mercenary group alone. After clearing the armor, Lee is willing to show us the rest of the base. | | * SPL - 110; Damage |
| #;
| | * CON - 110; Damage (and a bit of survivability) |
| # Leave the center and walk a little bit left where Lee explains the rest of the base. Tan will appear and tell us that this should be enough and you should go and see Tris. You will be rewarded with 30x and 30 reputation.
| | * WIS/STA - 72; Survivability |
| #; | | |
| # Talk to Tris. He asks us how everything went. After some explaining, he tells us that Alberta needs a wizard and Nillem should join them. Lehar will be sent to the Wigner Merchant Group, who are involved in relief efforts for people who escaped the cult. For us, we need to meet someone first. We meet Heine through a magic Tablet (Insert mobile phone joke here). Learning from Heine, our task will be to go to Alberta and receive the goods Heine sent to the resistance. Heine wishes to get a special Bright Eye from us. It must be from us and a fresh one, so not a single one from the storage. | | : More damage from skills with talismans (what we really care about) and a bit of S.MATK (we don't really care). Very important because it is 10-20% damage difference when I tested it after maxxing everything (seriously go max it). Still better damage addition than Soul of Heaven and Earth if you can only pick one. |

| # Talk to Walter Sailor and go to the Raised Land. Here you can do the kill quest.

| # To return you can talk to the Hidden Boat on the bottom left of the map .

| # Walk to . Aurelie already senses the sudden change in magic and we report what happened. Now Nillen and Nyar will seal the rift while we'll go and see what happened to Lasgand in the Seal.

| #;
| |
| # Talk to Nyar Clone. Lehar and his aunt will go on to lift the curse from Lasgand. You can't join them, so you need to wait until they are done. You have to wait 10 minutes to open the instance. Grab a coffee, visit the toilet, touch some grass. After the 10 minutes Lehar and Voglinde will re-appear, telling us that the curse is broken but Lasgand is still resurrecting. Now we think it's the work of the Heart Piece of Ymir and we need to check it out, remembering what happened in Bio Labs back then.

| # Talk to Nyar Clone. We confirm what he is still dangerous and his power is still creating new Rgans. The curse is lifted but Lehar and Voglinde are staying to fight back the Rgan. Now Nillem wants to see us where the rift was, you get warped there.

|
| |
|
| <!--T:8-->
| | The general aim of the min-maxing process (as of Date: 2/Sep/2025) is to equalize these damage modifiers while maximizing their overall multiplicative result. You should be aware of diminishing returns as you add up a single damage modifier. The contextual reason of the importance on this matter is because of the aforementioned DPS and One Hit (OH) Objectives, that we want each hit of our talisman skills damage to be as high as possible (the DPS for blue dragon and the single burst instance of skill for white tiger). |

| | * Class%/Boss%: Hardest and most expensive to get, generally speaking. You will have around 20%-100%. Main Sources: , Demigod Set, HoL accessories and enchantments, White Knight Pet. (This is probably why was so expensive in contrast to the physical builds which have plethora of Class%/Boss% sources) |
| * Mysterious Ghost Ship | | * Enemy_Element%: Rare modifier mostly seen on more modern iterations of items (post 2016), but is less expensive than Class%. You will have around 40%-100%. Main Sources: CoL Autumn garment and its 2nd slot enchantment, Dimensions/Time Gap Weapons 3rd slot enchant, Jitterbug combo and proc. |
| * Final Battle | | * Skill%: Quite hard to get as the only source is from TDRC and Dimensions/Time Gap Weapons for Talisman skills, which is already mandatory. You will have around 70%-130%. Haven't yet tested the Yorscalp headgear + combo (the red phoenix and talisman of four bearing god skill). |
| | * Enemy_Race%: kinda rare for magical racial modifier. You will have 50%-130%. Main Sources:-like MVP cards on shoes, HoL accessories and enchantments, various equipments. |
| | * Enemy_Size%: Easy to get and cheap. You will easily have more than 65%-120%. Main Sources: Cards on Weapon slots, TDRC, Shadow Gears. |
| | * MRes_Ignore%: Only relevant source for now is the Magical/Spell/Sorcery Master Shadow Gears for 20%. The effect is only roughly 5-10% pure damage increase, though it is nice, because it is outside all other modifier calculations. |
| | * MATK%: You will have more than 150-250% MATK%. Main Sources: , Shadow Gear Enchantments for MATK%, -like MVP cards on shoes, various equipments. |
| | * Spl: You will have around 200-250 or more. Main Sources: , Shadow Gear enchantments, |
| | *S.MATK: You will have around 350 or more. Main Sources: various equipments, |
| | * Ele%: You will easily have around 300-500% or more. Main Sources: -like MVP cards on garment, various equipments. Used to be less on previous meta (around 100-250% top), that is why additional damage boost from -like MVP cards on garment felt bigger, because the 100% ele is of bigger ratio. |

| | = Glossary= |
| | *BiS: Best in Slot, refers to items/cards that are considered the best according to the ongoing meta. May be subject to change, that is why I put emphasize on dates whenever the term BiS is mentioned on that part. |
| | *Old BiS: Old Best in Slot, was the BiS on previous meta. Some have the potential to be BiS again in the future (e.g. Bio5 MVP Ranger Shecil card in the case future Job 4 Wind Hawk Bio MVP cards will give strong combo bonus), so they are generally still top tier recommended items, though not to die for. |
| | *Experimental: Strong items that could possibly be BiS on some setups, but are not widely accepted as the BiS and still need a lot of testing and discussion for it to be universally designated as BiS. Or items that are situationally considerably better than BiS or offering niches that are considered worth trading with the boons gained from the BiS items depending on your personal playing style. |
