Recreated Dark Whisper is a daily Chapter 1 party instance in which the party fights Immortal Monarch (22497) while managing two linked crystals. Correct crystal timing is essential: the red Life Vessel can restore the boss's HP, while the blue Guardian Crystal opens the party's damage window.

Access

  1. Complete the Chapter 1 story through the Dark Whisper investigation.
  2. Create a party and speak to the Wizard Professor at (hem_dun01 201, 248).
  3. The party leader selects the available difficulty and creates the instance.
  4. Enter together and keep every party member inside, online and alive.

Difficulty levels

The selected level determines the strength of the encounter. For Levels 2–5, the party leader must meet the following minimum Base Level.

Difficulty Minimum Base Level of Party Leader
Level 1 Base difficulty
Level 2 260
Level 3 265
Level 4 270
Level 5 275

Party and failure rules

  • All party members must remain alive and inside the instance.
  • A 10-second failure countdown begins when a member dies, leaves the instance or is no longer present.
  • If the countdown reaches zero, the attempt fails and the encounter must be restarted.
  • Only one player may enter the upper-floor staircase at a time. A second player entering it resets the attempt.
  • The upper-floor player must return to the main arena and be present for the final blow on the boss, or that player will not receive the reward.

Walkthrough

  1. Before starting, choose one player as the crystal runner. Everyone else remains in the main arena.
  2. Engage Immortal Monarch (22497) and watch for the red Life Vessel and the route to the upper floor.
  3. When the blue Guardian Crystal becomes available, only the designated runner enters the staircase.
  4. The runner destroys the blue Guardian Crystal. This stuns the boss and temporarily makes the red Life Vessel vulnerable.
  5. During this short window, the main group focuses the red Life Vessel and uses saved burst damage.
  6. If the Life Vessel is not destroyed in time, it can restore the boss's HP.
  7. The Life Vessel can respawn later at full HP. Repeat the blue-crystal and red-vessel sequence whenever it returns.
  8. When the boss is close to death, wait until the runner has returned to the main arena before dealing the final blow.
  9. Complete the reward dialogue before leaving the instance.

Crystal mechanics

Target Location Function Priority
Life Vessel (red)
22499.png
Himmelmez's Vessel (22499)
Main arena It is extremely resistant outside the stun window and is responsible for restoring the boss's HP. After being destroyed, it may respawn at full HP later in the fight. Destroy it during the vulnerability window.
Guardian Crystal (blue)
1914.png
Blue Crystal (1914)
Upper floor Destroying it stuns the boss and opens the brief window in which the Life Vessel can be damaged efficiently. Only the designated runner should enter and destroy it.

The red and blue crystals are linked. Attacking the Life Vessel before the Guardian Crystal is destroyed wastes most of the party's damage. Save burst skills for the stun window and change targets immediately when it begins.

Immortal Monarch

The boss of the instance is 22497.png
Immortal Monarch (22497)
. This page refers specifically to the Chapter 1 instance version, internal name CH1_MD_HEMEL.

Attacks and hazards

  • Lockon Laser: deals 30,000 damage. Move away from its line or targeted area as soon as the telegraph appears.
  • Jupitel Thunder and Ignition Break: expect both ranged magic pressure and close-range burst damage.
  • Higher difficulties add wide-area Earth Strain and falling-meteor patterns.
  • The boss may switch targets and chase a different party member. Keep it positioned where the main group can immediately attack the Life Vessel.
  • Floor and area attacks can overlap with the crystal window. Survival takes priority because a single death starts the party failure countdown.

Each difficulty awards its own reward box. Every item listed below has a 100% rate.

To remain eligible for the reward:

  • Stay alive and inside the instance until completion.
  • If you were the crystal runner, return to the main arena before the boss dies.
  • Finish the completion dialogue before leaving.

Strategy tips

  • Assign the runner before the fight. High mobility, survivability and quick single-target damage make this role safer.
  • Keep every other party member in the main arena; never follow the runner upstairs.
  • Save burst damage and short-duration buffs for the Life Vessel's vulnerability window.
  • Do not spend long cooldowns on the highly resistant red vessel before the blue crystal is destroyed.
  • When the boss is nearly defeated, announce it and confirm that the runner is back before finishing the fight.
  • On higher difficulties, prioritize avoiding telegraphed attacks over greed. Any death can cost the entire attempt.
  • If the boss appears to heal while the Life Vessel was destroyed correctly, record the timing and report it; the old healing behavior was corrected in MuhRO Patch Notes #203.
