Runes are consumables that buff your character. It is highly recommended to farm for them, especially the staples, as they essentially double the damage that you can do.
Here is a step-by-step leveling guide, do note that this is not the only way to progress levels early game. Feel free to use this as reference to leveling your first Dragon Knight.

Here is the full, unedited VOD for the text leveling guide.

=== Level 1-200 ===

# Complete the tutorial up until you get {{#item:7803}}, this will allow you to get up to 2x the EXP gain for both Base and Job levels; HOWEVER, you can only use it during levels 1-40. We will use this later to entirely skip the Rebirth process and speed up the rest of the leveling process.
# Job change into Swordsman via the Job Master in Main Office (@go office_. Remember to allocate your stats mainly onto STR and DEX first and equip the {{#item:20307}}to get +1000HP, 20 HIT and +200SP
# Proceed to Warper then go to Prontera Culvert (Dungeons > Culvert), kill the mobs there until you reach level 10 to be able to join the Eden Group at @go Eden. If you find the mobs inside the dungeon hard, exit to the portal and hit the mobs there instead.
# Level up your {{#skill:7}}, as this will be our main skill to level early.
# Proceed to Eden Paradise (type @go Eden). Then talk to the Purple Haired NPC named Lime Evenor. This will allow you have access to Eden Quests, Eden Starter Gear, and the Eden Vending Machine that we will use all throughout our time in the game.
# Move to the upper right portal then go to the portal with "Paradise Equipment". This equipment will suffice for leveling from 1-200, or even up to 240+ if you're dedicated enough.
# Talk to the hatted, blonde haired npc named Lucy to get{{#item:24687}}+ other Paradise Shadow Gear, a secondary set of gear that gives additional stats outside of the usual gear.
# Talk to the brown haired npc named Lothaire to get your starter gear, {{#item:500032}}and the Paradise Physical Armor Set, {{#item:400137}}, etc.
# Proceed to level to Base Lvl 45 in Sunken Ship (Dungeons > Sunken Ship). Hit all the mobs there up until Lvl 45.
# Once you're at level 45, select "Take All"  from the 40~69 Board in Eden for the Pirate Skeleton Quest. This will give us {{#item:25223}}that we will use to purchase consumables on the Eden Vending Machine.
# Keep doing the quest up until you are Job Lvl 50, then change to Knight.
# Go back to Paradise Equipment talk to the golden haired man named Labraham then get the {{#item:600020}}. We will be using {{#skill:1001}},  {{#skill:7}} {{#skill:62}} for Leveling.
# Keep repeating the Pirate Skeleton Quest up until you get Base Lvl 85.
# Once you're Base Level 85, take all the quest in the 70~99 Board in Eden, then proceed to Einbech Dungeon (Dungeons > Einbech Dungeon) to kill Pitman up until you get 15 {{#item:7318}}. We will need this to turn the quest that will give us our next weapon at Level 100. I highly recommend turning in this quest at least once before proceeding to the next step.
# Once you reach Base level 90, take all the quest in the 70~99 Board in Eden, then go to Turtle Dungeon (Dungeons > Turtle Dungeon). Kill Spring Rabbits and Dragon Tail at the Turtle Dungeon Entrance until the quest is complete. '''DO NOT TURN IN THE QUEST YET'''
# Move to the upper portal then kill Solider and Permeter. At this point you should be maxed level. If not just keep killing mobs until you are max level. '''DO NOT TURN IN THE QUEST YET'''
# Go back to Sunken Ship then kill Pirate Skeletons until the quest is complete. '''DO NOT TURN IN THE QUEST YET'''
# Go to Main Office (@go office) then proceed to Rebirth at the Job Master NPC.
# Once you are a novice again, go to Prontera Culvert (Dungeons > Culvert) to level up Job Level 10
# Change into High Swordsman
# Activate the {{#item:7803}}then turn in the Pirate Skeleton Quest at the 40~69 Board. It should be enough allow you to Job Change into Lord Knight.
# Change into Lord Knight.
# Turn in the 70~99 Board. This will make you Base Level 99 and Job Level 70
# Change into Rune Knight.
# Kill any mob or re-login for your actual level to be registered by the server.
# Once you're level 100, proceed to Paradise Equipment and get {{#item:600021}}from Labraham
# Talk to the Pirate NPC named Roxanne at the rightmost side of Eden and select Take All.
# Go to the Eden Vending Machine above Roxanne, and with the {{#item:25223}}we got from Eden Quests, prioritize getting {{#item:23204}}{{#item:23203}}{{#item:14534}}. This will give us a big boost in survivability. You may also want to get {{#item:12883}}{{#item:14766}}{{#item:23475}}if you have spare {{#item:25223}}.
# Go to Illusion Moonlight (Illusion Dungeons > Illusion Moonlight) then kill any of the mobs there. Use {{#skill:1001}},  {{#skill:7}} {{#skill:62}}. Once you're at least level 12-15, use {{#skill:2005}} as your main leveling skill up to Level 200.
# Turn in quest to Roxanne. Repeat the quest until Base Level 120
# Go to Illusion Frozen (Illusion Dungeons > Illusion Frozen) then kill any of the mobs there.
# Turn in quest to Roxanne. Repeat the quest until Base Level 160
# Go to the 130~190 Board, and select Take All
# Proceed to Verus (@go Verus or Towns > Verus) then proceed to the lower right portal.
# Kill the Recon Robots in the tunnel and in the next proceeding portal until the quest is finished.
# Turn in Quest to the 130~190 Board
# You may repeat the 130~190 Board for Recon Robots or go to Illusion Teddy Bear (Illusion Dungeons > Illusion Teddy Bear) to spice leveling, up until you're Base Level 180.
# Purchase 10 pieces of each {{#item:7436}}{{#item:7437}}{{#item:7438}}{{#item:7439}}by typing @ws 7436, @ws 7437, etc. If you don't wish to purchase, there's no supplies for the materials in the market, or just plain stingy, I highly recommend just spamming Recon Robots until Level 200, as they give big EXP and is relatively easy.
# Talk to Roxanne NPC and keep talking to her until you turn in the quest rewards.
# Congratulations! You are now a Dragon Knight.

Introduction

Dragon Knight is the 4th job variant of Knight branch, specializing in dealing large amounts of damage while being tanky enough to not instantly die. It is currently one of the best damage dealers in the game and its simple gameplay makes it engaging for both fresh and veterans alike.

Pros Cons Neutral
  • Top-tier damage (Top 3 among all jobs)
  • Most of the time is less dependent on VCT and FCT compared to other jobs
  • Versatile
  • Above average HP and tankiness
  • Higher base movement speed and increased weight capacity thanks to mount
  • Simple gameplay
  • Sustainability is dependent on consumables (Potions)
  • Below Average Flee, you are less likely to dodge and have to eat the damage
  • Gear-dependent
  • No party utility outside of damage
  • Only shines best in late/endgame
Moderate upkeep to deal full damage (Runes)

Stats and Traits

This is a rundown on what each Stat and Trait does for Dragon Knight and its builds. If you wish to know certain stat allocations, please refer to Build Paths below.

Stats Notes
STR Main Damage Stat; Additional Weight Your primary stat. It affects your melee damage output the most, also useful for carrying more items
AGI Attack Speed + Flee Mainly used to increase attack speed. Also increases the potency of ASPD consumables. Such as Berserk Potion, Enrich Celermine, etc.
VIT Max HP; DEF and MDEF Makes you tankier and increases healing potency of consumables, it also decreases your chance to be hit by certain status effects.
INT Max SP; Casting Time, MDEF Mainly for you to be able to cast your skills more before using consumables. This also affects your casting time mainly used for Dragonic Breath.
DEX Ranged ATK, HIT, MATK, Casting Time Increases your HIT rate. Primary stat for Dragonic Breath as it increases your ranged damage and lowers cast time more than INT
LUK Critical HIT, ATK, MATK, Perfect Dodge Mainly used to increase Critical Chance. It is the primary stat for Critical Hit builds
Trait Notes
POW ATK and P. ATK Your main trait; all of your 4th Job Skills scale with POW
STA RES Get this if you wish to be more resistant to Physical Damage. If you have access to Parry, you may skip out on this.
WIS MRES Get this if you wish to be more resistant to Magical Damage. This is usually more preferred as you have less MDEF than DEF.
SPL MATK and S. MATK Primary trait of Magic builds. DKs have no magic build so we skip this.
CON R HIT, FLEE, P. ATK Mainly used to increase your P. ATK. This is a tertiary trait for Critical Hit builds and secondary trait for Dragonic Breath.
CRT H. Plus and C. Rate Increases 140% BASE Critical Damage Modifier; 1 C. Rate = +1% Critical Damage, Secondary Trait for Critical Builds

Leveling

Here is a step-by-step leveling guide, do note that this is not the only way to progress levels early game. Feel free to use this as reference to leveling your first Dragon Knight.

Here is the full, unedited VOD for the text leveling guide.

Level 1-200

  1. Complete the tutorial up until you get 7803.png Novice Battle Manual (7803) , this will allow you to get up to 2x the EXP gain for both Base and Job levels; HOWEVER, you can only use it during levels 1-40. We will use this later to entirely skip the Rebirth process and speed up the rest of the leveling process.
  2. Job change into Swordsman via the Job Master in Main Office (@go office_. Remember to allocate your stats mainly onto STR and DEX first and equip the 20307.png C. Beginner Cap (20307) to get +1000HP, 20 HIT and +200SP
  3. Proceed to Warper then go to Prontera Culvert (Dungeons > Culvert), kill the mobs there until you reach level 10 to be able to join the Eden Group at @go Eden. If you find the mobs inside the dungeon hard, exit to the portal and hit the mobs there instead.
  4. Level up your 7.png Magnum Break, as this will be our main skill to level early.
  5. Proceed to Eden Paradise (type @go Eden). Then talk to the Purple Haired NPC named Lime Evenor. This will allow you have access to Eden Quests, Eden Starter Gear, and the Eden Vending Machine that we will use all throughout our time in the game.
  6. Move to the upper right portal then go to the portal with "Paradise Equipment". This equipment will suffice for leveling from 1-200, or even up to 240+ if you're dedicated enough.
  7. Talk to the hatted, blonde haired npc named Lucy to gethttps://muhro.eu/flux/data/zrenderer_cache/item/icon/24687.png Paradise Shadow Weapon (24687) + other Paradise Shadow Gear, a secondary set of gear that gives additional stats outside of the usual gear.
  8. Talk to the brown haired npc named Lothaire to get your starter gear, 500032.png Paradise Sword (500032) and the Paradise Physical Armor Set, 400137.png Paradise Cap (400137) , etc.
  9. Proceed to level to Base Lvl 45 in Sunken Ship (Dungeons > Sunken Ship). Hit all the mobs there up until Lvl 45.
  10. Once you're at level 45, select "Take All" from the 40~69 Board in Eden for the Pirate Skeleton Quest. This will give us 25223.png Eden Coin (25223) that we will use to purchase consumables on the Eden Vending Machine.
  11. Keep doing the quest up until you are Job Lvl 50, then change to Knight.
  12. Go back to Paradise Equipment talk to the golden haired man named Labraham then get the 600020.png Paradise Knight Two-Handed Sword (600020) . We will be using 1001.png Charge Attack, 7.png Magnum Break 62.png Bowling Bash for Leveling.
  13. Keep repeating the Pirate Skeleton Quest up until you get Base Lvl 85.
  14. Once you're Base Level 85, take all the quest in the 70~99 Board in Eden, then proceed to Einbech Dungeon (Dungeons > Einbech Dungeon) to kill Pitman up until you get 15 7318.png Old Pick (7318) . We will need this to turn the quest that will give us our next weapon at Level 100. I highly recommend turning in this quest at least once before proceeding to the next step.
  15. Once you reach Base level 90, take all the quest in the 70~99 Board in Eden, then go to Turtle Dungeon (Dungeons > Turtle Dungeon). Kill Spring Rabbits and Dragon Tail at the Turtle Dungeon Entrance until the quest is complete. DO NOT TURN IN THE QUEST YET
  16. Move to the upper portal then kill Solider and Permeter. At this point you should be maxed level. If not just keep killing mobs until you are max level. DO NOT TURN IN THE QUEST YET
  17. Go back to Sunken Ship then kill Pirate Skeletons until the quest is complete. DO NOT TURN IN THE QUEST YET
  18. Go to Main Office (@go office) then proceed to Rebirth at the Job Master NPC.
  19. Once you are a novice again, go to Prontera Culvert (Dungeons > Culvert) to level up Job Level 10
  20. Change into High Swordsman
  21. Activate the 7803.png Novice Battle Manual (7803) then turn in the Pirate Skeleton Quest at the 40~69 Board. It should be enough allow you to Job Change into Lord Knight.
  22. Change into Lord Knight.
  23. Turn in the 70~99 Board. This will make you Base Level 99 and Job Level 70
  24. Change into Rune Knight.
  25. Kill any mob or re-login for your actual level to be registered by the server.
  26. Once you're level 100, proceed to Paradise Equipment and get 600021.png Paradise Rune Knight Two-Handed Sword (600021) from Labraham
  27. Talk to the Pirate NPC named Roxanne at the rightmost side of Eden and select Take All.
  28. Go to the Eden Vending Machine above Roxanne, and with the 25223.png Eden Coin (25223) we got from Eden Quests, prioritize getting 23204.png Brilliant Protection Scroll (23204) 23203.png Small Mana Potion (23203) 14534.png Small Life Potion (14534) . This will give us a big boost in survivability. You may also want to get 12883.png Almighty (12883) 14766.png Limited Power Booster (14766) 23475.png Infinity Drink (23475) if you have spare 25223.png Eden Coin (25223) .
  29. Go to Illusion Moonlight (Illusion Dungeons > Illusion Moonlight) then kill any of the mobs there. Use 1001.png Charge Attack, 7.png Magnum Break 62.png Bowling Bash. Once you're at least level 12-15, use 2005.png Wind Cutter as your main leveling skill up to Level 200.
  30. Turn in quest to Roxanne. Repeat the quest until Base Level 120
  31. Go to Illusion Frozen (Illusion Dungeons > Illusion Frozen) then kill any of the mobs there.
  32. Turn in quest to Roxanne. Repeat the quest until Base Level 160
  33. Go to the 130~190 Board, and select Take All
  34. Proceed to Verus (@go Verus or Towns > Verus) then proceed to the lower right portal.
  35. Kill the Recon Robots in the tunnel and in the next proceeding portal until the quest is finished.
  36. Turn in Quest to the 130~190 Board
  37. You may repeat the 130~190 Board for Recon Robots or go to Illusion Teddy Bear (Illusion Dungeons > Illusion Teddy Bear) to spice leveling, up until you're Base Level 180.
  38. Purchase 10 pieces of each 7436.png Fragment of Agony (7436) 7437.png Fragment of Misery (7437) 7438.png Fragment of Hatred (7438) 7439.png Fragment of Despair (7439) by typing @ws 7436, @ws 7437, etc. If you don't wish to purchase, there's no supplies for the materials in the market, or just plain stingy, I highly recommend just spamming Recon Robots until Level 200, as they give big EXP and is relatively easy.
  39. Talk to Roxanne NPC and keep talking to her until you turn in the quest rewards.
  40. Congratulations! You are now a Dragon Knight.

This will cover the consumables you may want to use all throughout the whole game.

12731.png Turisus Runestone (12731) STR +30, 30% to increase Auto Attack Damage by 150% and Base Damage of Skill by 250% (125% for PVP) for 15 minutes YES This rune is essential to 5213.png Storm Slash build as it gives a chance to QUADRUPLE the damage the skill deals.

For the rest of the builds, this rune is not as necessary, but +30 STR is a decent boost.

12729.png Asir Runestone (12729) Increase Weapon ATK and Scaling ASPD for 15 minutes MANDATORY This rune allows you to attack faster and deal a bit more damage. Having more ASPD allows you to attack faster and deal more DPS, and the 12729.png Asir Runestone (12729) is one of the most potent ASPD consumables and is exclusive to Rune Knight, which makes it a solid rune to go for.
12726.png Rhydo Runestone (12726) Significantly increases the damage of your next auto attack, has a chance to destroy your weapon by 20% PVP This rune is made for PVP, which allows you one-shot players with relative ease.

For PVE though, like other 3rd job skills, are outclassed by 4th job skills, and as such unneeded.

12732.png Pertz Runestone (12732) 7x7 AOE skill around you. Can crit. PVP If 12726.png Rhydo Runestone (12726) somehow wasn't enough, this runestone allows for a follow-up play.

This rune is irrelevant for PVE though.

12725.png Nosiege Runestone (12725) Remove and become immune to the following debuffs:
Stun, Sleep, Curse, Stone Curse, Poison, Blind, Silence, Bleeding, Confusion, Frozen, Deep Sleep, Burning, Freezing,
Guillotine Cross Poisons, Marsh of Abyss, and Mandragora Howling. For 60 seconds
Situational Allows you to cleanse and become immune to the status effects listed. Very useful in PVP, and certain PVE content.
12733.png Hagalas Runestone (12733) Consume 20% MaxHP. 30% of destroying weapons (Players) or decrease 25% ATK (Monsters) for 10 seconds [Bosses Unaffected] Increase DEF and MDEF for 15 minutes YES Makes you a bit tankier; it's one of the more optional staples but if you have the resources to spare, it is a solid rune to get.
12727.png Verkana Runestone (12727) Randomly summon 2~4 shields. Shields share your DEF and MDEF and have 1000 HP.

Shield will be destroyed if taking more than 1000HP damage, but any excess damage will be ignored. Lasts 15 minutes

Situational This allows you to shrug off huge devastating attacks such as Betelguese's Tetra Vortex and other MVPs' signature attacks. The long cooldown however makes it less viable for longer fights.
12728.png Isia Runestone (12728) Increase INCOMING healing effects by 50% Decrease reflected melee damage by 50% for 15 mins YES Allows healing on you, including consumables such as 1100005.png Concentrated Golden Syrup Potion (1100005) to become stronger. Use this if you are reliant on 1100005.png Concentrated Golden Syrup Potion (1100005) for your sustain.
12730.png Urj Runestone (12730) Recover 60 SP every 10 seconds for 15 minutes NO Flat 60 SP every 10 seconds is useless. Avoid getting this if you want to conserve resources.
22540.png Lux Anima Runestone (22540) +30% vs All Size, +30% melee and ranged damage, +30% critical damage, +30% MaxHP and MaxSP MANDATORY Your bread and butter rune. Highly boosts your damage (more than 50%) and make you tankier. While this is expensive to make, this is the Dragon Knight's signature rune and what makes the job an absolute menace in both PVE and PVP.

Stats / Traits

Note: 120 is the usually the threshold for highest stat allocation efficiency, going above 120 is usually a loss barring some exceptions.
Stats Allocation Notes
STR 120+ Your main damage scaling for stats. Also increases your weight capacity allowing you to carry more items
AGI 95-110 Allows you to attack faster, which means you can output more skills for damage
VIT 100-120 Makes you less squishy. Having VIT at 100 renders you immune to certain status ailments (e.g. Stun) hence the 100 minimum.
INT 70-100 / Leftover points Allows you to cast more skills before replenishing it.
DEX 1 Your build is centered around dealing crits, and crits DO NOT MISS, hence DEX can be left untouched. If you are still in the early game though, feel free to allocate some DEX as critical chance is not abundant early in the game.
LUK 120-125 Increases your chance to deal critical hit damage. Decreases your chance to get hit by Curse status. Only allocate 125 LUK if and only if you run 300261.png Galensis Card (300261)
Trait Allocation Notes
POW 110 Your main damage scaling for Traits. Max this one first especially if you are leveling.
STA Leftover Physical Damage Resist. Put leftover points if you want more tankiness vs. Physical
WIS Leftover Magical Damage Resist. Put leftover points if you want more tankiness vs. Magical.
SPL 0 You don't deal magic damage sadly
CON 35 / Leftover Mostly used for increasing P. ATK. Allocate your points here if you wish to deal more damage once you maxed out POW/CRT
CRT 110 Your secondary scaling for Traits. Increases your chance to deal critical hit damage, as well as increases your base critical damage modifier (C.Rate) (Ex: Base crit damage is 200%. Having 30 C.Rate makes it 230%)

Skill Tree

Note: Skills outlined with a RED box is a core skill that can be used on all stages of the game. While BLUE box is your skill used while leveling during that job.
Swordman
Notes
- 7.png Magnum Break gives you an additional 20% Fire property damage for 10 seconds. It's used especially against bosses where that 20% can make a difference for DPS.

300360.png Shining Seaweed Card (300360) +10 ATK, +1 P. ATK

+3% Melee; +7% SP Consumption If Refine +9: +2% Melee

Combo with 300362.png Unfrost Flower Card (300362)

Best non-MVP HG card for Critical DK

27396.png Isaac Wigner Card (27396) -5% After Cast Delay Non MVP and budget variant of 4403.png [MVP] Kiel Card (4403)

You need at least 33-35% ACD to maximize the cast rate of 5213.png Storm Slash. Even two of this may not be enough to be able to maximize the cast without making further changes to gear, as such it is recommended to get 4480.png Sealed Kiel Card (4480) if you find ACD to be a problem to maximizing the skill.

4480.png Sealed Kiel Card (4480) -15% After Cast Delay

If Refine +15: -5% After Cast Delay

Budget variant of 31488.png 4403.png [MVP] Kiel Card (4403)

You will need this to be able to maximize the cast rate of 5213.png Storm Slash.

31488.png 4403.png [MVP] Kiel Card (4403) -30% After Cast Delay While 4480.png Sealed Kiel Card (4480) is typically enough to maximize 5213.png Storm Slash, you can get this card if you wish to weave in 5208.png Hack and Slasher in your rotation. This results in higher damage, albeit it is very ping dependent, and improper execution can end up in a slight DPS loss.
31488.png 4529.png [MVP] Violent Coelacanth Card (4529) +2% Class modifier

+1% Class; -1% MaxSP per 2 refine levels

Only get if you wish to absolutely minmax damage. The damage gain is marginal, but it's technically better than other headgear cards.

+40% vs Holy and Shadow

Weapon 27361.png Polluted Wander Man Card (27361) +30% vs Medium and Large Your main card for Size Modifier as most relevant mobs you'll encounter are Medium and Large sized. When in doubt, slot in 2 of these if you don't want to think much on card choices for weapons
300263.png Rekenber Guard Card (300263) +5% ATK; +10% Melee if on 2H Sword; +2% Melee per 3 refine; +3% Melee per 3 refine and if Base Level 200. Pretty strong early-mid game option for weapon card. As you progress your gear however, you may end up with unbalanced damage modifiers, where slotting in 27361.png Polluted Wander Man Card (27361) and/or 4140.png Abysmal Knight Card (4140) becomes the better choice.
4140.png Abysmal Knight Card (4140) +25% vs. Boss Use this if you're going up against Boss Protocol Monsters. This is especially relevant in the following zones:

Garden of Time; Forgotten Time Zone; Varmundt Biosphere Depth 1 and Depth 2; MVPs/Instances

31488.png 4399.png [MVP] Thanatos Card (4399) Pierces 100% of DEF on Boss, Normal, Player protocol targets when performing a physical attack. Increases the weapon attack in proportion to the targets VIT and DEF.

-30 DEF; -30 FLEE

Allows you to replace 24661.png Full Penetration Shadow Earring (24661) combo with something else.

While this allows you to be more flexible on your Shadow Gear, this more or less makes it a slight DPS loss due to a loss of a weapon card slot that is more potent in terms of damage modifiers.

Garment 300261.png Galensis Card (300261) +2 CRI per 10 Base LUK

+30% Crit Damage if Base LUK is at least 125

Get this if you still need to add CRIT. CRIT is hard to come by in the early game, and getting this card (particularly from other players) will help you in critting.
300271.png Happy Card (300271) Combo with 4393.png Shelter Card (4393)

+10% Melee; +15% Melee per 40 base STR if combo and base level 200

Your go-to non MVP card combo for damage. This will be your main damage card; that is assuming you have your CRIT stat sorted out.
300422.png Catherine Gaebolg Card (300422) +10% Damage Taken from Normal Mobs

+5% Melee For each 2 refine levels: +4% Melee

Your non-MVP damage card for garment if you have access to 31488.png MVP Armor Cards; particularly the racial ones such as 31488.png 300007.png [MVP] Jewgoliant Card (300007) ,31488.png 27126.png [MVP] Boitata Card (27126) , etc.

Be careful of its drawback of taking more damage into account.

31488.png 4679.png [MVP] Rune Knight Seyren Card (4679) +2 ASPD

+15% Racial Modifer Base Level ≥ 175 = +10 ALL STATS Refine +10 = +10 ALL STATS

A solid MVP card choice that mainly increase your stats. A decent substitute to 300474.png [MVP] Rgan Chief Cleaner Card (300474) if you wish to utilize other card combos outside of 300271.png Happy Card (300271) .
31488.png 300474.png [MVP] Rgan Chief Cleaner Card (300474) +30% Melee

Every 20 Base LUK: Crit -5 For each 3 refine levels: +5% Melee If Armor Level 2: +10% Boss modifier

The strongest MVP Card you can get for the build. Adds a lot much needed Melee modifier. The penalty and can be hefty though, as such it is highly recommended to get your LUK to 89 once you have this card; this is also so you can utilize 300467.png Angel Iceslug Card (300467) without its drawbacks.
Footwear 300144.png Abysmal Merman Card (300144) +15% Critical Damage if combo with 300150.png Abysmal King Dramoh Card (300150) Your main card for shoes until you get 300380.png Piloted Midrange Rgan Card (300380)
300380.png Piloted Midrange Rgan Card (300380) +5 CRI

If below +12: -15 CRI; -10% Crit Damage

If +12 or above: +15 CRI; +10% Crit Damage; C. Rate +5

Your go-to card for shoes.

Helps with crit and damage to some extent. Only use if footwear is +12 above, otherwise you lose on stats

Right Accessory 300467.png Angel Iceslug Card (300467) +15% Melee ; -15 Crit if ≥ 90 LUK Strongest non-MVP card for Melee. Get your LUK to 89 if you wish to use this.

Position Gear Enchant Notes
Upper 400110.png Crown of Beelzebub [1] (400110) You can get the MVP materials from 50001.png Forgotten Heirloom (50001) via Daily Hunts/Instances and 25731.png Zelunium (25731) from EP18 Dungeons onwards. Get it ASAP and refine to at least +9 if able. This is the best in slot headgear for the Ranged Build so feel free to max it whenever you can.

Only get if you want to buy from other players. While potentially cheaper and marginally better than 450177.png Grey Wolf Suit [1] (450177) ), the volatility of the player market and getting it how it is intended can make it a bigger or as much of a grind as 450177.png Grey Wolf Suit [1] (450177) .

NOTES:

Stats / Traits

Note: 120 is the usually the threshold for highest stat allocation efficiency, going above 120 is usually a loss barring some exceptions.
Stats Allocation Notes
STR 100-120 One of your main damage stats. Also increases your weight capacity allowing you to carry more items.
AGI 70-110 Allows you to attack faster, which means you can output more skills for damage. Prioritize this last as ASPD is prioritized less in the early game. Once you hit the late game, you need to hit at least 183 ASPD to maximize 6001.png Dragonic Breath
VIT 120-130 Makes you less squishy. Having VIT at 100 renders you immune to certain status ailments (e.g. Stun) hence the 100 minimum.
INT 100-120 Allows you to cast more skills before replenishing it. This stat is also included for cast time reduction via stats (Int+Dex(2)=530)
DEX 100-120 Increases your HIT rate. 6001.png Dragonic Breath CAN miss so keep that in mind. This is also the main stat for cast time reduction via stats. In the late game you'll need to reach instant cast time to maximize 6001.png Dragonic Breath.

In the early game you may prioritize this for smoother movement / kiting.

LUK 1 No need LUK as your skills cannot crit.
Magical.
SPL 0 You don't deal magic damage sadly.
CON 110 Mostly used for increasing P. ATK. Allocate your points here after maxing out POW
CRT 0 You don't need CRT as it is mainly for critical based builds. Feel free to put leftover points here if you wish to get a non-significant damage boost

Lord Knight
Notes
- 357.png Concentration is the only buff you can use for the build, feel free to allocate your points on anything else, even on the Swordman tree if you feel like it.
Rune Knight
Notes
- 2008.png Dragon Breath and 5004.png Dragon Breath Water does NOT scale with STR. It mainly scales with MaxHP/Current HP. If you are still leveling, prioritize VIT first and INT/DEX for smoother leveling
Dragon Knight
Notes
- If you want to opt out of 5211.png Madness Crusher, you may max out 5207.png Two Handed Defense instead.

- 5201.png Servant Weapon is used for AP recovery to recover AP outside of healer

CARDS

Position Gear Effect Notes
Upper 300174.png Melted Poring Card (300174) +10% MaxHP. Best Non-MVP card that increases MaxHP
Middle 300174.png Melted Poring Card (300174) +10% MaxHP. Best Non-MVP card that increases MaxHP
Armor 4392.png Observation Card (4392) Combo with 300270.png Empathize Card (300270)

Best card combo if you prefer a power-spike pretty early in the game. Also best used prior to getting 300376.png Two Eyes Dollocaris (300376) +12 bonus.

300376.png Two Eyes Dollocaris (300376) +100 Def, +50 RES

If below +12: -30% MaxHP; -10% ATK, -10% MATK

If +12 or above: +30% MaxHP; -10% ATK, -10% MATK

Use this card if you prefer more survivability.

Only use if armor is +12 above, otherwise you lose on stats.

4493.png Sealed Tao Gunka Card (4493) +50% MaxHP ; -50% Def and MDEF. +25% MaxHP if Armor is +15 Budget variant of 4302.png [MVP] Tao Gunka Card (4302) .

This is better than 300376.png Two Eyes Dollocaris (300376) for dealing damage, but you'll be taking more damage due to your DEF and MDEF being halved. This card gets more value if you have your armor at +15.

31488.png 4302.png [MVP] Tao Gunka Card (4302) +100% MaxHP ; -50% Def and MDEF. The BiS armor card for 6001.png Dragonic Breath. Gives you a lot of HP (and damage thanks to HP Scaling).

You can mitigate the penalty of halved DEF and MDEF by using 23204.png Brilliant Protection Scroll (23204)

300264.png Rekenber High Guard Card (300264) +5% ATK; +10% Ranged if on 2H Spear; +2% Ranged per 3 refine; +3% Ranged per 3 refine and if Base Level 200. Pretty strong early-mid game option for weapon card. As you progress your gear however, you will end up with high amounts of ranged attack modifier where slotting in 27361.png Polluted Wander Man Card (27361) and/or 4140.png Abysmal Knight Card (4140) becomes the better choice.

4608.png White Knight Card (4608) +15 ATK, +20% vs. Medium and Large; IF COMBO with 4609.png Khalitzburg Knight Card (4609) : gives a total +35% damage and -30% Damage taken vs Medium and Large Only use if you have a shield in your build; otherwise just use 27361.png Polluted Wander Man Card (27361)
Shield 300235.png Mushy Ant Egg Card (300235) +10% MaxSP; +1%MaxHP per refine Only applicable if you have a shield in your build; otherwise feel free to skip this.
4609.png Khalitzburg Knight Card (4609) +20 DEF, -25% damage taken vs Medium and Large; IF COMBO with 4608.png White Knight Card (4608) gives a total +35% damage and -30% Damage taken vs Medium and Large
Garment 300270.png Empathize Card (300270) Combo with 4392.png Observation Card (4392)

+10% Ranged; +15% Ranged per 40 base DEX if combo and base level 200

Best card combo if you prefer a power-spike pretty early in the game.

Also best used prior to getting 300376.png Two Eyes Dollocaris (300376) +12 bonus.

300426.png Crux Findel Card (300426) +10% damage taken vs Normal class; +5% Ranged; +4% ranged per 2 refine This is the non-MVP damage card you'll use once you have 300376.png Two Eyes Dollocaris (300376) online.

Take care of its increased damage taken penalty, though you can mitigate it with Eden consumables.

31488.png 4679.png [MVP] Rune Knight Seyren Card (4679) +2 ASPD

+15% Racial Modifer Base Level ≥ 175 = +10 ALL STATS Refine +10 = +10 ALL STATS

Your best in slot Garment card in terms of utility.

The additional stats allow you swap out 24339.png Almighty Shadow Earring (24339) combo with other shadows such as 24765.png Lord Bearer's Shadow Pendant (24765) or 24681.png Maximum Mammoth Shadow Earring (24681) which gives you more flexible choices for shadow gears.

OTHER 31488.png BIO5 MVP Cards

(e.g. 4671.png [MVP] Sorcerer Celia Card (4671) 4682.png [MVP] Shadow Chaser Gertie Card (4682) , etc)

Base Level ≥ 175 = +10 ALL STATS

Refine +10 = +10 ALL STATS

An alternative to 4679.png [MVP] Rune Knight Seyren Card (4679) .

Due to 6001.png Dragonic Breath being a very popular build, 4679.png [MVP] Rune Knight Seyren Card (4679) is a lot more heavily priced than other Bio 5 MVP cards.

If you wish to enjoy the benefits of 4679.png [MVP] Rune Knight Seyren Card (4679) for a cheaper price; but deals less damage, use other BIO5 MVP Cards instead.

31488.png 300473.png [MVP] Snow Angel Card (300473) +30% Ranged Damage

+5% Ranged damage per 3 refine +10% Boss modifier if compounded on Level 2 Armor

Your best in slot Garment card in terms of damage.

This will give you LOADS damage, and is much better than 4679.png [MVP] Rune Knight Seyren Card (4679) for dealing damage, however it doesn't offer you the same flexibility the former would.

As such, the trade off for this is you'll be stuck on 24339.png Almighty Shadow Earring (24339) and 24340.png Almighty Shadow Pendant (24340) for your instant cast requirement unless you invest in +20 Genetic Stat Food.

Footwear 300091.png Papila Card (300091) +2 Dex; +10% MaxHP and 10% MaxSP Additional HP/SP for HP scaling and +2 Dex for instant cast
4381.png Green Ferus Card (4381) +1 Vit; +10% MaxHP A more budget-friendly alternative for footwear, much more manageable to farm solo as well.
31488.png 27150.png [MVP] Venom Chimera Card (27150) +1000 MaxHP; +200 MaxSP

Refine +12 = +15% MaxHP; +15%MaxSP

Your BiS for footgear. There is no other card that gives more than 10% MaxHP and MaxSP other than this card.

You may want prioritize this last for if ever you have no more upgrade options.

Right Accessory 300077.png Broken Omega Cleaner Card (300077) +2 Dex and +1 Vit; +10%MHP Grants additional stats for instant cast and MaxHP. A solid choice especially for accessory cards.
300468.png Snow Rabbit Iceslug Card (300468) +15% Ranged Damage; -15 Crit if ≥ 90 LUK Get if you prefer more raw damage. The penalty is negligible as 6001.png Dragonic Breath does not crit.
Left Accessory 300077.png Broken Omega Cleaner Card (300077) +2 Dex and +1 Vit; +10%MHP Grants additional stats for instant cast and MaxHP. A solid choice especially for accessory cards.
